Ernesto Drangosch was a pianist, conductor and teacher. A child prodigy, was the son of one of the owners of the popular "music store and piano deposit: Drangosch & Beines". Hence many of his early creations were published by that firm, and when the company is dissolved, by Beines & hijos. He began his musical studies at age seven with Homeyer. In 1890 he took piano lessons with Collin and in 1894 entered the Conservatory of Music in Buenos Aires. Here he had as teachers Alberto Williams, Julian Aguirre and Carlos Marchal, among others. Already at age nine he played the Beethoven Concerto in C with Opera Orchestra under the conducting of Prieto Melani.
