Ariav Buchris was born in 1987 in Israel. He is a scholarship recipient of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation and the Rotary Club. He has performed as a soloist with the Detmolder Chamber Orchestra, Germany; Ramat Gan Chamber Orchestra, and the Petach Tikva Conservatory Orchestra. Ariav took part in master classes with Ivry Fitlis, Sergiu Schwartz, Miriam Fried, Zakhar Bron, Vadim Gluzman, Shmuel Ashkenazi and Peter Oundjian. Ariav graduated with an artist diploma at the Detmold Music College under Eckhard Fischer, joining the Detmolder Chamber Orchestra in 2006. He won a lucrative prize in the Lions music competition, Germany, and was awarded scholarships by HfM Detmold (GFF) and the German Academic Exchange Service. Pursuing a master's degree at the Vienna conservatory, he studied under Thomas Christian, continuing his studies at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, Tel Aviv University, under Hagai Shaham. He is a prize winner of the National Violin Competition UNO Jerusalem (2012). He is currently working in the first violin section of the Israeili Symphony Orchestra. He performs regularly in recital and chamber music concerts. Ariav plays on a wonderful Carl Becker violin generously loaned to him by Mr. Yehuda Zisapel.
