Tommaso Cecchino was an Italian composer. He first went to Dalmatia in 1603 as temporary maestro di cappella of Split Cathedral and stayed there probably until 1607; In December 1614, coinciding with Dominis's fall from power, he left Split to become maestro di cappella of Lesina Cathedral and stayed there for the rest of his life. Cecchino's stay in Lesina and the works that he wrote there provide an interesting illustration of the rapid spread of the monodic style into the peripheral regions of the Venetian Republic.
