Giuseppe Ferrata Sheet Music

Giuseppe Ferrata was an Italian musician who emigrated to America. In 1885 after earning degrees in composition, piano and organ, he won a scholarship that allowed him to participate for three years in the lessons that F. Liszt held in Rome on the occasion of his many stays in the city. Around 1892, after having successfully undertaken a promising concert career, F. decided to move to the US. Here he taught piano at Mount St. Mary's College in Emmitsburg, MD, then at Greenville Female College in Greenville, SC, and was later director of Beaver College of Music of Pittsburgh. He moved in 1919 to New Orleans, Became a teacher and then director of the department of piano studies in Newcomb College of Tulane University. He later devoted himself to composition, and wrote mostly piano music
