Mendelssohn Piano Quartet no. 2 in F minor, Op. 2

Felix Mendelssohn wrote his Piano Quartet no. 2 in F minor, Op. 2 in 1823, and dedicated it to his teacher, Carl Friedrich Zelter. It was published two years later. The work, scored for piano, violin, viola, and cello, was part of the set of piano quartets that were amongst his first works to be published, hence the low op. number. A standard rendition lasts 30 minutes.
