Schumann Toccata, Op. 7

Robert Schumann composed his Toccata in C major, Op. 7, in 1836. It is a difficult piece, and Schumann believed it was the "hardest piece ever written". It is dedicated to Ludwig Schuncke, who had dedicated his Grande Sonata in G minor, Op. 3, to Schumann. A typical performance of this piece lasts about six minutes.
