The Violin Sonata ("Duo" or "Grand Duo") in A by Franz Schubert in A major, catalogued as either Op. 162 or D 574, was composed in 1817 and published posthumously. This sonata followed by one year the composition of his sonatinas. There is a strong thematic unity, most obviously between the opening themes of the second and fourth movements.
