Haydn Symphony no. 78 in C minor, Hob. I:78

Joseph Haydn completed his Symphony no. 78 in C minor (Hob. 1-78) in 1782. Though it was written ten years before his iconic London Symphonies, Symphony no. 78 (together with symphonies nos. 76 and 77) was originally conceived for the English audience. This can be appreciated in its polished and contained style, with the winds almost always playing in support of the strings.
