The Improvisata Norvegica 'Langeleik' (also Springar for Norwegian Dulcimer) was composed by Frank Zintl in 2015. It is an improvisational piece, intended to imitate the style of traditional Norwegian folk dances and how these are played on the "Langeleik" (a kind of Dulcimer-like instrument). In the words of the composer, the melody -albeit original- bears a strong resemblance to some traditional folk dance melodies. The piece was originally conceived in a digital piano using a synthesized dulcimer sound.
