Frédéric Chopin composed this Polonaise in G minor circa 1817, at the age of 7. It was not published during his lifetime, as he probably didn't consider it a 'serious' piece, but it was published as the first piece of his Op. Posthumous polonaises. It is now referred to by its number in the Brown catalogue of Chopin's works, B. 1.
