Frédéric Chopin wrote this Polonaise in B flat major quite early in his career, around 1817, though it was never published during his lifetime. Against his wishes that his remaining manuscripts be burned after his death, the piece saw the light iun 1910. As it doesn't have an opus number assigned, it is usually referred to by its Brown catalogue number, B. 3.
