3 Sonetti del Petrarca, S. 270 is a set of 3 songs for voice and piano composed by Franz Liszt, with text by Francesco Petrarca (1304–1374), translated from Italian to German by Peter Cornelius (1824–1874). The Tre sonetti were tge direct result of Liszt’s stay in Italy during 1838 and 1839. They were first published (S. 270a / N. 14-1) in 1846. Liszt revised the pieces between 1864–82, altering the order among other things, and re-publishing them in 1883.
