Bach Suite in G minor, BWV 995

Johann Sebastian Bach composed his Suite in G minor, BWV 995, between 1727 and 31. It is based on his own Cello suite no. 5 in C minor (BWV 1011). It was written for the lute or the lautenwerk, a period keyboard instrument that reproduced the characteristic sound of the lute. Nowadays Bach's lautenwerk pieces have become standard guitar repertoire items (sometimes in transposed keys).
