Felix Draeseke composed his Requiem in B minor, Op. 22, between the years 1865 and 1880. It was premiered on the 26th of october 1881 in Dresden, and it appeared in print two years after that. This orchestral work is actually the first of Draeseke's two settings of the Requiem Mass, the second being his E minor Requiem (WoO 35), dating from 1909.
