Schütz Das ist je gewisslich wahr, SWV 277/388

Heinrich Schutz wrote his sacred motet Das ist je gewisslich wahr in 1630, as a burial piece for Johann Hermann Schein. It was published the following year. Some years later, in 1648, Schutz revised the piece and republished it as the no. 20 of his Geistliche Chormusik. The motet is in German and calls for SSATTB voices, though it can be accompanied by instruments colla parte. The first version edition, usually catalogued as SWV 277, was revised in April 2006 to correct a textual error and some errors regarding accidentals. The second version, named SWV 388, displays a far more simple Amen cadence.
