Reubke Sonata on the 94th Psalm

The Sonata on the 94th Psalm in C minor is a work for organ by Julius Reubke, finished and premiered in 1857. Reubke completed the work while studying with Franz Liszt, and the influence of his techear, as well as that of Wagner's, is clearly visible on the score. The work is, nonetheless, a very individual piece, requiring an advanced pedal technique, and considered by iteslef an important item in the romantic organ repertoire. Some critics have highlighted the programmatic nature of the work, with the overall mood of the different moments of the piece inspired by the text of the psalm.
