Except for two cantatas, most of Vincent Lübeck's body of work is undated. This particular German cantata, Gott wie dein Nahme, is among his lesser ones, probably intended for small ensambles (like Hilff deinem Volck and Willkommen süsser Bräutigam). The work calls for two tenors, bass, and an orchestra of three C trumpets plus a continuo section.
