Brahms Piano Quartet no. 2, Op. 26

Johannes Brahms finished his Piano Quartet, Op. 26, in 1861. The work, scored for piano, violin, viola, and cello, is in the key of A major and, with a 50-min. performance time, is the longest of Brahms' chamber works. It was premiered in 1863 by the Hellmesberger Quartet, with Brahms himself at the piano.
