Brahms Cello Sonata no. 2, Op. 99

Johannes Brahms composed his Cello Sonata no. 2, Op. 99, in 1886, more than twenty years after finishing his first sonata, and published the next year. The piece is in the key of F major and in four movements, and it was originally dedicated to Robert Hausmann, who premiered it. Hausmannhad popularised Brahms' first cello sonata years before.
