Scriabin completed his 2 preludes, op. 67 in 1913. Both are quite out of line with the rest of his compositions. It has been suggested that during the last years of his life, Scriabin showed signs of sporadically leaving his mystical fixation, and quite clearly these preludes are not colossal nor pretentious, but rather the result of a deep and thorough understanding of the history of piano literature.
