Originally from Singapore, Minna Liu attended the International School of Beijing and currently studies at Stanford University. She has studied music at the New York Summer Music Festival and the Eastman School of Music in recent years. Minna started learning piano at the age of five, and she received her diploma in the ABRSM (The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) Piano Performance Examination in 2009. She won first prize in numerous piano competitions in Beijing, including the 2011 Beijing International Youth Arts Festival Piano Competition and the 2011 Hong Kong – Asia Piano Open Competition (Young Adult Category). She held her first solo piano recital in October, 2011. Throughout her student career, Minna has participated in many international music festivals for Concert Band and Choir held in cities including Moscow, Seoul, Brussels, Guangzhou, Kobe and Dubai. She has also played the flute for 9 years, with multiple ABRSM Performance Examination certificates and experiences serving Principal Flute in her school Concert Band and Honor Band festivals. Minna is currently under flute instruction of Greer Ellison and plays for the Stanford Flute Ensemble.
