Guy Katz Musique

Guy Katz is an Israeli-born American pianist who began his music education at the age of four. Throughout his career, he has performed at venues including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital, the Kennedy Center’s Concert Hall and Millenium Stage, the Kimmel Center’s Perelman Theater, and the Smithsonian Museum. In the summer of 2012, he participated as a music fellow at the Lake George Music Festival in Lake George, New York. More recently, he was awarded second prize in the amateur adult division of the 2014 Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition. Having always had a dual passion for music and medicine, Katz pursued his undergraduate degree in Neurobiology and Physiology at the University of Maryland. After being chosen as one of five finalists for the University Medal and graduating Summa Cum Laude, Katz began his medical education at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. During this time, he continued to seek out ways to merge his musical and medical careers. In addition to participating in and organizing regular free concerts at medical and non-medical venues in Manhattan, Katz organizes a course titled “Music and Medicine,” which explores the relationship between the two topics from a variety of perspectives.
