Basson

Basson Partitions

The bassoon is a wooden, double-reeded wind instrument with keys. It was developed in the early 18th century, reaching its final form more than 100 years later. It is a non transposing instrument, with a range that extends from Bb1 to approximately C5 (the higher registers depend on the technique and skill of the player). It is one of the most common wind instrument, and as such, it has been widely used in orchestral music (being a part of the standard orchestra), chamber music, wind ensemble, and band music.
