gaillarde Partitions

The galliard (also galliarde or gagliarda) was a kind of dance and music form popular in 16th century Europe, which involved a somewhat complex choreographic work. As a musical form, galliards continued to be written after the dance fell out of use: they were usually composed in a 6/4 meter, with an accent on the fourth beat of the first bar, and on the second of the second bar.
