Ballet Partituras

The word ballet defines both a type of performance dance, and a work including dance and music to be produced on stage. By extension, the word 'ballet' is used to describe the music for such a production. Though ballet music is mainly intended for accompaniment of a stage production, the music itself may become so famous that sometimes composer will rework and re-publish ballet music in the form of concert suites. Ballet is said to have begun during the Italian Renaissance, and progressed in consonance with the artistic movements that emerged throughout the centuries. Some of the most popular ballets include The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, The Swan Lake Romeo and Juliet, Cinderalla, Don Quixote, and La Bayedere. Some notable names in ballet music include Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Sergei Prokofiev, and Ludwing Minkus.
