Max Eberwein was a German composer and conductor. In the literature he is often referred to as Max Eberwein. Max Eberwein was a prolific composer. The number of his works is counted in hundreds. They document the stylistic transition from the classical to romantic era. His compositions include mainly operas, musical comedies, overtures, symphonies, ballets and cantatas, concert and chamber music, songs and oratorios. In his songs he used numerous poems of Goethe. His works were also found outside of Thuringia and other European countries which show that they found there way into the concert repertoire.
