Pehr Frigel was a Swedish composer. Frigel studied in Uppsala and took lessons from Johann Gottlieb Naumann, Joseph Martin Kraus and Francesco Uttini. Since 1778, he was a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, of which he became secretary in 1796. 1811-1834 he was inspector of the educational establishment of the Academy, where he also taught from 1814 to 1830 music theory. Frigel composed an opera, a musical comedy, the oratorio Christ on the Mount of Olives, choral and orchestral works, cantatas and songs.
