Nicolas Dezède was a French composer, born in Lyon in 1740, of unknown parents (It is said he was an illegitimate son of Frederick II of Prussia). He represented on the Italian scene in Paris many comic operas, several of which have been popular. He was in the service of the Duke of Deux-Ponts from 1749 to 1790.
