Mateo Flecha el Joven, in Catalan Mateu Fletxa el Jove was a Spanish composer, and nephew of Mateo Flecha the elder. He died in the Monasterio de La Portella in Solsona. In 1568 He published in Venice in the workshops of Antonio Gardano, his first known work, Primo Libro de Madrigali a Quatro & Cinque Voci con Vno Sesto & Vn Dialogo a Otto which he dedicated to Emperor Maximilian II. After this edition followed another entitled Divinarum completarum psalmi, lectio brevis et Salve Regina, cum aliquibus motetis, published in 1581 in Prague. Also in 1581 he compiled and published, in the press of Lorge Negrin Prague, the famous salads of his uncle, incorporating two proprietary ("The Fair" and "Las Cañas") and others (such as Francisco de Peñalosa, Francisco Chacón, Bartomeu Càrceres or Pere Alberch Vila). In 1593 he published a volume of poems in Spanish funeral. He also published collections of madrigals and motets.
