John Paul Wessely was a Bohemian composer. Wessely played until 1797 as a violinist in Altona, to 1800 in Kassel and afterwards was concertmaster in Ballenstedt. Apart from a Rondo for Horn and Orchestra, eight Variations for Clarinet and Orchestra and ten variations for horn, violin and orchestra he composed 14 string quartets, three string trios, quartets and two clarinet singing games.
