Egli, Johann Heinrich, Swiss composer, violinist, and teacher. He studied voice, violin, piano, and composition, his principal mentor being Johannes Schmidlin. He also perused the theoretical works of Kirnberger, C. P. E. Bach, and F. W. Marpurg. He was active in Zurich as a violinist and as a teacher of voice and piano.
