Ippolito Baccusi was an Italian composer. After studying in Ravenna, he was maestro di cappella in Verona and Mantua and choirmaster of Verona Cathedral from 1592. His many masses, motets, psalms and madrigals are of high quality and show Venetian influence (Willaert, Gabrieli). He was an early advocate of doubling voices with instruments.
