Francesco Beretta Sheet Music

  • Born: 1678
  • Died: 1740
  • Birthplace: Rome, Italy

Francesco Beretta was born in Rome around 1640. His music teacher was Stefano Fabri junior, and the fact that in May 1657 B. was hired as organist and choirmaster at the cathedral of Tivoli goes to show, in addition to his musical talent, the fact that he also received a solid education, typical of the Roman school. In January 1658, for the erection of a chapel in the cathedral of Tivoli votive in honor of the Immaculate Conception, put music in the hymn Dies iste celebratur of Cardinal M. Santacroce, Bishop of Tivoli. This is one of his first compositions of which there is record today.
