Botho Sigwart zu Eulenburg was a German composer of the late Romantic period. When he was seven years old he composed songs by ear and when he turned eight received music lessons in Munich and Vienna, devoting himself to composition and being good at improvising at the piano, often when the emperor visited them. The emperor had much interest in this ability, so he commissioned the young 11-year variations on the military march Dessauer. This composition for orchestra premiered on subsequent occasions at the Great Hall of Music in Vienna with himself acting as a conductor. In 1898 he joined Sigwart in middle school Bunzlau (Silesia)
