Albert Bertelin was born in Paris July 26, 1872 and died in that city, June 19, 1951, was a pupil of Dubois, Pugno, Widor and Massenet at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris where he returned in 1893. Second Second Grand Prix de Rome in 1902, behind Ayme Kunc and Roger-Ducasse, having already got a mention in the contest in 1900, it was then long taught counterpoint and fugue at the Superior School of music Caesar Franck, Paris.
